About Paul

My love for fast cars started when I was young. I received my first Eldon 1:32 scale slot set in 1968. I stepped up to 1:1 scale in the '80s and spent much of the time autocrossing and ice racing. I have drifted back and forth between HO and 1:32 scales over the years. In 2004 I bought the new Carrera Pro-X, and have expanded and re-wired to include an analog as well. The old Eldon set is long gone. I am preparing to build a routed wood track with an exact copy of my Carrera layout with tire testing comparisons in mind.

As we all know, tires are the consumeable part of slot racing, and they need to be replaced quite regularly. Without proper traction, slots cars go straight. off. I have approximately 75 cars that need tires. I like to drive them all. Putting Slot.it, Indy Grips, or any other premium tire on the cars and that would of cost about $200 to $250, and they will wear out and need replacing.

The process of making your own tires is so easy anyone can do it. That is why I have brought this exciting product to market. I am so confident you will like this product that I am offering a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with the tires you made, return them, along with all the bottles and mix cups, and receive a full refund.

Okay, so how do we make tires?

In a nutshell.. take your desired tire to be replicated. Place it in some sort of containment field (mold frame) so we can pour the urethane over the original to make a negative copy. Urethane needs to cure for 16 hours and then your mold will be essentially ready to pour a tire into it. Pour urethane into your new mold and allow it to cure. After curing you will release your new tire, and voila you have the best tires available. Glue them on using a CA Gel formula. True them up. Go racing!

This process is really as easy as it sounds if you can manage the ingredients without making a mess. The bases and curratives come in gallon drums weighing 8lbs each. Not exactly convenient to making one to three ounce batches of urethane. My kits make it easy for you. I have prepared each batch or "pour" with the precise amount of each ingredient. Your mixing cups and mold making frame cups are the exact size needed for each pour you will make. Once your molds are prepared, pre-measured tire pours are as easy as filling the measure cups with each ingredient, blending them in the mix cups, and then pouring it into the molds. Fully illustrated User Guide takes you step by step through the entire process. Re-pour kits will be available for quick easy pours of as few as 6 or 8 tires at a time for the big race next weekend.

No special equipment is needed. No vacuum degassers or weight scales. Even the stir sticks are included. You will need a desk or table top in a warm dry room. A desk lamp with a 60 watt bulb. An aluminum cookie sheet and some paper towels.

In my Shop you will find several Kits for making Molds and Tires. Each kit comes complete with everything you need to make your own tires. There are also several Re-pour kits available for when you need more tires, and the great thing is once you have your molds, tires can cost as little as half a dollar each.
